Harold Lee McLaughlin

 HAROLD LEE McLAUGHLIN

Harold L. McLaughlin, 70, of Vassar died Thursday, January 23, 2025 in his home. He was born July 13, 1954 in Marlette to Harold Charles and Corrine (Schultz) McLaughlin. 

 Harold graduated from Kingston High School in 1971. He was employed by General Motors for many years until he continued his education and became a social worker. He then worked at Pioneer Work & Learn Center in Vassar and the State of North Carolina. Harold was a drummer in several rock bands and played locally and in resorts up north. He was honored to be a little league baseball coach for both of his sons. Harold also enjoyed fishing and will be remembered for being a “dad joke” champion. 

Harold is survived by his sons: Eric McLaughlin of Allen Park, Erin McLaughlin of Vassar; grandchildren: Neil McLaughlin, Brady McLaughlin, Chloe McLaughlin, Xian Dohina, Pierre Lance Dohina; sisters: Pat Hampton, Marilyn Vanderpoel, Carolyn (Jim) Sleff. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Mike McLaughlin, Charles McLaughin; sister, Sherilyn Clarke. 

Funeral service held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 30, 2025 in Kranz Funeral Home, Kingston with Deacon David Gillespie from Our Lady Consolata Parish officiating. Memorials may be made to the family. Interment will be in St. Michaels Cemetery, Wilmot.
