Helen Greenleaf

Helen B. Greenleaf, 89, of Cass City, died Friday, October 18, 2002 in Hills and Dales General Hospital, Cass City. She was born June 12, 1913 in Gagetown to Duncan and Anna (Knight) Battel. She married Harold Greenleaf. He died December 25, 1965.

Helen was a one room school teacher for 12 years before she taught in Cass City Public Schools for another 12 years. She was a wonderful homemaker.

Helen is survived by her son, Don Greenleaf of Cass City; sisters-in-law, Margaret Battel of Cass City, Betty Greenleaf of Cass City; Brother-in-law, James Greenleaf of Caro; nieces and nephews: Sue Werschky of Cass City, Linda (Michael) Stec of Cass City, Virginia Dennis of Caro, Paul Greenleaf of Caro, Fred Walmsley of Florida and Paul Battel of Cass City. She is preceded in death by her brother, Lester Battel; sisters: Leila and Luverne Battel.

Rev. George Ward of Cass City United Methodist Church officiating. Interment is in Elkland Township Cemetery, Cass City. Memorials may be made to Hills and Dales General Hospital or the Cass City United Methodist Church.

Visitation: 2 to 5 & 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, October 19, 2002
