KEVIN ROBERT GREEN,
51, of Cass City died unexpectedly Thursday, July 21, 2016 in McLaren Bay Region, Bay City. He was born March 30, 1965 in Livonia, the youngest of four children born to Robert William and Laura Ann (Warner) Green. He married Jenifer Jill Gayari June 9, 1990 in St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Pigeon.
Kevin graduated from high school in Livonia. He earned his Special Education Teaching Degree from Saginaw Valley State University and his Masters of Education Administration Degree from University of Nebraska. Kevin taught for the Kingston School District where he was a coach of the Varsity Football team, Cass City School District where he was instrumental in developing the KLICK computer program, Lakers School District where he taught Special Education, served as Athletic Director and Elementary School Principal and was Junior Varsity Football Coach. Kevin recently began serving as the Superintendent of the Genesee School District. He served on the board of Team One Credit Union. He also belonged to Genesee Forward. Kevin loved golfing and enjoyed fishing. He had a great sense of humor that he loved to share with family and friends. He was a member of the Cass City Gavel Club, the Knights of Columbus and the Lions Club in Genesee.
Kevin is survived by his wife, Jenifer; children: Chelsea Green of Cass City, Brandon Green of Cass City, Ariel Green of Cass City; mother, Laura Green of Livonia; brother, Bruce Green of South Lyon; sister, Linda (Keith) Deskins of Farmington Hills; sister-in-law, Carolyn Winward of Pittsburgh, PA; mother-in-law, Elaine Gayari of Owendale; sisters-in-law: Laura (Kevin) Burk of Elkton, Karen (Mark) Hicks of Williamston, Michelle Gayari of Ann Arbor; brother-in-law, Steve (Michelle) Gayari of Pigeon; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Green; brother, Mark Green; father-in-law, Ronald Gayari.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2016 in Our Lady Consolata Parish, St. Pancratius Catholic Church with Rev. Christian Tabares officiating. Interment will be in Elkland Township Cemetery, Cass City. Pallbearers for Mr. Green: Steve Gayari, Bruce Green, Mark Hicks, Kevin Burk, and Justin Kerkau.
