DOROTHY J. GREEN,
71, of Rochester Hills died May 13, 2018 in Ascension Crittenton Hospital, Rochester Hills. She was born May 15, 1946 in Cass City to Herbert and Ruth (Kirby) Wagner.
Dottie earned an Associate’s Degree in business from Kent State University, Ohio. She worked for the John Rowling Real Estate Agency in Metamora. Dottie was secretary to the administrator of Utica Community Schools for four years. She was a community director and enjoyed training new people. Dottie worked for various mortgage and real estate companies and retired from Wells Fargo as regional manager. Dottie kept active playing golf, tennis and jogging. She enjoyed reading fiction and non-fiction books, crocheting, cross stitching and knitting. Dottie was a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant for a time.
Dottie is survived by her son, Scott Abke of Grand Rapids; daughter, Shari (Kenneth) Kirk of Rochester Hills; grandchildren: Xandrea Kirk, Heather (John) Newville, Kandice (Michael) Sanchez; four great-grandchildren: Dakota Meier, Cody Boos, Jordan Pierce, Emma Sanchez; sisters: Beverly (Les) Auten, Jr. of Cass City, Aileen (Daryl) Wismer of Saranac, Jill (Bill) Haps of Grand Rapids, Vicki DeHaan of Georgetown, SC, Mary (Dale) Wagner Parsons of North Branch; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Jan Abke; brothers: Kurt Wagner and John “Jack” Wagner.
Funeral service held Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Brad Speirs of Novesta Church of Christ officiating. Interment in Elkland Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, Arthritis Foundation or Alzheimer’s Association-Mid Michigan Region.
