DAVID ROGER GRANT David R. Grant, 51, of Saginaw, died Friday, October 29, 2004 in St. Mary’s Medical Center, Saginaw after a long illness. He was born May 10, 1953 in Saginaw to Silas and Janis Clorene (Mitchell) Grant. He married Sharon K. Ashmore May 23, 1987 in Bridgeport. David served in the U.S. Army 1971 through 1974 in Vietnam. He worked for GM and then Delphi for 27 years until his illness. David loved kids and they always called him �"Bear”. He loved animals and being outside. David enjoyed sports, fishing, and building model ships. David is survived by his wife, Sharon; step-daughters: Heidi Sopcak of Saginaw, Jessica (Gary) Agnew of Bridgeport; grandchildren: John Sopcak, Robert Schramm, Zachary Agnew, B. J. Solak; sisters: Judy (Al) Cramer of Saginaw, Edna Mitchell of Saginaw; mother-in-law, Wilma Ashmore of Cass City; brothers-in-law: David (Andrea) Ashmore of CO, Roger (Mary) Ashmore of Bay City, Henry Ashmore of Bay City, Dale (Clare) Ashmore of CO; sisters-in-law: Judy (Tom) Elliott of TN, Karen Mayer of Cass City; many nieces and nephews; best friend, Larry Courier of Bay City. He is preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Charles Ashmore; infant brother; and brother, George Grant. Funeral services to be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 2, 2004 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City, with Debra L. Kranz, Funeral Service Celebrant officiating. Memorials may be made to Saginaw County Humane Society. Interment will take place in Grant Township Cemetery, Gagetown. Visitation: 7 to 9 p.m., Sunday, October 31, 2004 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, November 1, 2004
