Charles O. Golinvaux, 82, of Cass City, died following a short illness Monday, October 6, 2014 in Covenant Health Care System, Cooper Campus, Saginaw. He was born November 2, 1931 in Toledo, OH to Dr. Cletus and Helen (O'Keefe) Golinvaux. He married Nancy Schwaderer de Beaubien February 8, 1997 in Cass City.
Chuck spent his childhood in Monroe and lived there until he went off to college. He studied at Albion College for 3 years before moving to Iowa. Chuck owned Chuck and Barney's RV dealership in Dubuque, IA for 28 years. He was a Boy Scout leader and held various offices for 50 years. Chuck received the Silver Beaver Award and was a camp volunteer at Boy Scout Camp Claus in Iowa. He was a member of Our Lady Consolata Parish, St. Pancratius Catholic Church in Cass City.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Nancy; step-children: Blaine (Shelley) de Beaubien of Cass City, Brian (Ashley) de Beaubien of Bay City; step-grandchildren: Michael de Beaubien, Lauren de Beaubien, Cole de Beaubien; half sisters: Mary Jo and Suzanne; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his sisters: Phyllis Gaines, Marjorie Dekking; brother, Cletus "Barney" Golinvaux.
Per Chuck's wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held. Interment will be in Elkland Township Cemetery. Family and friends may share memories, prayers and stories with the family at www.kranzfuneralhome.com.
