Margarita Cecilia "Gloria" Gohs, 73, of Silverwood, peacefully passed away surrounded by family, Wednesday, March 16, 2016 in her home. She was born August 18, 1942 in Los Angeles, California to Pablo and Frances (Carpio) Pestaño. She married Gary Lloyd Gohs on January 2, 1967 in Las Vegas, Nevada and moved to Michigan in 1971.
Gloria was a devoted wife and mother. She was always very proud of her Filipina and Mexican heritage. Gloria was an avid quilter. She enjoyed the art of pottery and ceramics. Gloria painted with watercolors and liked to cook. She enjoyed dancing and listening to many different genres of music. Gloria once served as a stenographer for the Los Angeles Police Department.
Gloria is survived by her husband, Gary; children: Marlene Fischer of Marlette, Anita (Christopher) McEwan of Imlay City, Nora Greve of Silverwood, Paul (Jessica) Gohs of Bay City, and 10 grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; and brother, John Pestaño.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 19, 2016 in St. Patrick Chapel of Clifford with Rev. Richard Treml officiating. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
