FRED A. GOHS
Fred A. Gohs, 94, of Silverwood, died Wednesday, October 6, 2004 in his home following a short illness. He was born March 9, 1910 at home in Mayville to Henry and Caroline (Schramm) Gohs. He married Mabel I. Cole April 1, 1935 in Angola, TN. She died October 14, 2001.
Fred was a dairy farmer, farming on the original family homestead. He was a former member of the Tuscola County Sheriff’s Mounted Posse. Fred attended North Branch Wesleyan Church. He enjoyed woodcrafts including making log sleighs and covered wagons.
Fred is survived by his sons: Gary (Margarita) �"Gloria” Gohs of Silverwood, Earl (Marlene) Gohs of Caro; 9 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren. Fred was the last of 9 children, having been preceded in death by 8 brothers and sisters.
Funeral services to be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 9, 2004 in Kranz Funeral Home, Kingston, with Pastor Peter Damaska of North Branch Wesleyan Church officiating. Memorials may be made to Covenant House - Detroit. Interment will take place in Rich Township Cemetery, Mayville.
