DONNA JEAN GIBSON,
55, of Cass City, died unexpectedly Wednesday, October 19, 2011 in her home. She was born November 6, 1955 in Detroit to Edmond and Angeline (Brusati) Vermeersch. She married Denny D. Gibson July 21, 1979 in Caro. He died May 21, 1999.
Donna worked for many years at the Deford Country Store. She worked for a time for Apria Medical Supply and has worked the last several years for Sheldon Medical Supply as a Customer Service Representative. Donna enjoyed camping and taking vacations. She had fun playing Poker on line. She enjoyed flower gardening and especially cooking. She made awesome lasagna and homemade cheesecake. Donna enjoyed decorating wedding cakes. But the love of her life was her grandson, Blake and spending time with family.
Donna is survived by her children: Denny D. (Tennille) Gibson, Jr. of Kinde, Darlene Gibson of Cass City; grandson, Blake Gibson; sister, Carol (Harvey) Gerstenberger of Sandusky; close niece and her family, Deanna (Steve) Hughes and children; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Theodore A. and Dorothy J. Powell; brothers: Edmond Vermeersch and Joseph Vermeersch; great nephew, Stevie Hughes.
Funeral service held 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 24, 2011 in Kranz Funeral Home Cass City with Sr. Maria Dina Puddu MC of St. Pancratius Catholic Church officiating. Interment in Novesta Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Family Discretionary Fund. Family and friends may share memories, prayers and stories with the family at www.kranzfuneralhome.com.
