Marie Gardner

MARIE R. GARDNER, 93, of Westland, formerly of Kingston, died unexpectedly Thursday, February 19, 2015 in her home. She was born January 5, 1922 in Rich Township to Harvey C. and Jennette (Johnson) Crankshaw. She married Wayne Leslie Gardner October 15, 1960 in Wayne, MI. He died August 21, 1996.

Marie graduated from Mayville High School. She was a former member of Kingston Wesleyan Church for many years. Marie was a member of the Senior Social Club and volunteered in the kitchen at the Senior Center in Westland. She enjoyed quilting, gardening and reading.

Marie is survived by her daughters: Melissa Thompson of Westland, Susan (Frank) Herr of Hummelstown, PA; grandchildren: Joseph, Elizabeth, Patrick, Thomas and Nathan; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by all of her siblings.

Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 24, 2015 in Kingston Wesleyan Church with Rev. Len Wyatt officiating. Interment will be in Kingston Cemetery. Pallbearers for Mrs. Gardner: Joseph Thompson, Patrick Thompson, Thomas Herr, Nathan Herr, Frank Herr and Mark Schaufele. Memorials may be made to the Charity of the Donor's Choice.
