CAROL ROSE GAFFNEY
71, of Cass City, died following a short illness, Sunday, September 15, 2019 in Covenant Medical Center Cooper Campus, Saginaw. She was born November 7, 1947 in Pontiac to Leo and Dorothy (Harlow) Tracy. She married Richard Gaffney on June 9, 1994.
Carol started her career working in many restaurants. She owned and operated Pizza Villa for many years and later Gaffney’s Hometown Kitchen. Carol was also a bus driver for Cass City schools. Together, she and Richard served with the Cass City Fire Department. She was a member of Living Word Worship Center of Cass City. Carol volunteered her time and skills restoring old dolls with Revive Ministries. She enjoyed crafts, crocheting and her doll collection.
Carol is survived by her husband, Richard; children: Tracy (James) Belanger of Holland; Tina (William) Rippey of Cass City; Michael (Joann) Furness of Manhattan, KS; Todd (Tonya) Furness of Caro; grandchildren: Kellie Belanger, Andrew Belanger, Roslyn (Edward) Coy, Ian (Hannah) Rippey, Autumn Rippey, Connor Furness, Peyton Furness; great-grandchildren: Mark, Brenna; step-children: Karen (Jim) McIntosh of Hadley; Kevin (Peggy) Gaffney of MS; step-grandchildren: Tavis (Carrie) Osentoski, Rory Osentoski, Blair Osentoski, Summer Osentoski, Joanna (Jeff) Jones; great-grandchildren: Elijah, Haven, Collen; brothers: Gary (Peggy) Tracy of NC; Christopher Tracy of MD; sisters: Dorothy Caverly (Alan Roth) of Deckerville; Teresa (Herbert) Williams of IL; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her great-grandson, Blake.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 19, 2019 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Pastor Jep Bryant of Living Word Worship Center officiating. Interment will be Elkland Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Living Word Worship Center of Cass City.
