JAMES E. FRITZ
James E. Fritz, PhD, 62, of Boston, MA, formerly of Cass City, died unexpectedly Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at home. He was born July 27, 1945 in Cass City to Edwin and Doris (Amundson) Fritz.
Jim received his BA from the University of Wisconsin, Madison after which he worked for Caterpillar in Peoria, IL. He then served with the Peace Corp in Paraguay, South America. Following the Peace Corp, he joined the Agency for International Development and worked in South America. Upon returning to the US, Jim completed his Masters degree and his PhD in Instructional Technology at Michigan State University. He then began his work with Digital Equipment in Boston. After he left Digital he served as a substitute teacher in the Boston Public School system and also worked in retail sales. Jim enjoyed listening to music, attending the opera, and watching sporting events.
Jim is survived by his brother, Michael (Jeanne) Fritz of Birmingham; nieces: Sarah Fritz, Amanda (Todd) Levin; great nieces and nephews: Jasmina, Michael, Isabella, Leah, Jacob; and several cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 7, 2008 in Cass City United Methodist Church with Rev. Paul Donnelson officiating. Interment will be in Elkland Township Cemetery, Cass City, with his parents. Memorials may be made to Charity of the Donor’s Choice.
