FREDRICK ROYCE POMEROY
Fredrick R. Pomeroy, 70, of Deford, died Saturday, April 27, 2024 surrounded by his family in Covenant Healthcare Harrison Campus, Saginaw. He was born December 29, 1953 in Saginaw to Roy and Beatrice (Curvin) Pomeroy. He married Sharon Sue Curtis on October 24, 2002 in Caro. She died December 13, 2012. Fred served in the United States Army. In his younger years, he played in a band, enjoyed classic cars, riding motorcycles, hunting and gardening. Fred was a “jack of all trades”. Through the years, he owned and operated a mechanic shop, gas station, roofing company, and sold Kerby vacuums. Fred retired as a welder from TTX, a railcar pooling company. His favorite hobby was working on vehicles. In his spare time, he enjoyed working in his garage, watching Westerns on television, especially Bonanza and Lifetime movies as well as watching the news. Fred loved going up North, playing the word game, Crossword Jam and listening to country music, especially the classics. He will be remembered for his famous burritos, and as a fun-loving jokester. Fred is survived by his children: Tarah (William) Miller of Deford, Kyle Pomeroy of Caro, Amber Gast of Bay City, Ashley (Rose) Cathers of Warren, Brandi Pomeroy of Kansas, Brook Pomeroy of Washington, Sarah Becker of California, Staci Pomeroy of Bridgeport, Fredrick (Sarah) Pomeroy, Jr. of Munger; his grandchildren that lived with him: Breanna Miller, Brayden Miller, “last born” Oliva Pomeroy, and many more loving grandchildren and great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; siblings: Rich (Bonnie) Pomeroy, Ed (Marcia) Pomeroy, Lynette (Fred) Sakuta, Kerry Nickens. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sharon; brother, Jim Pomeroy. Funeral service held 12:00 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2024 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Pastor Jerry Harrington of Vassar Church of the Nazarene officiating. Military honors conducted by the U.S. Army honor guard and the Cass City V.F.W. Post #3644 honor guard. Visitation: 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2024 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City
