FLOYD D. McINTOSH

Floyd D. McIntosh, 84, of Cass City, died following a brief illness Monday, September 9, 2024 in the University of Michigan Hospital, Ann Arbor. He was born August 8, 1940 in Argyle Township to Lorn and Belva (McNaughton) McIntosh. He married Linda Sue Lester on April 18, 1986 in the Evangelical Free Church of Cass City. She died March 5, 2020.

Floyd graduated from Cass City High School in 1958. He worked as a truck driver for over fifty years. In his seventies, following his retirement, he continued to haul sugar beets every fall for local farmers. Floyd and Linda always looked forward to seasonal camping in the Caseville County Park driving the golf cart around visiting friends in the campground. He was a member of the Cass City Antique Car Club. Floyd enjoyed going to old engine shows and his toy tractor collection. He was a proud owner of an Allis-Chalmers tractor, but he was most proud of his grandchildren and always attended their sporting events. Every winter, Floyd traveled to North Carolina, Arkansas, and Texas to visit his daughters. Floyd easily made friends, no one was a stranger. He would often go for a ride and stop along the way to visit with friends.

Floyd is survived by his children: Lorn (Diane) McIntosh of Decker; Rhonda (Michael) Truemner of Longview, TX; Paula (Jeffery) Papp of Alma, AR; Colleen (Bill) Sontag of Wake Forest, NC; Timothy (Shawna Phillips) Stoll of Onondaga; Pamela (Dave) Kolacz of Cass City; fourteen grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren and one due in October; siblings: Carl (Shirley) McIntosh of Williamston; Judy Britt of Cass City; Clarence (Karen) McIntosh of Presque Isle; Betty Bensinger of Ubly; many nieces, nephews and special friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Linda; grandson, Jeffery Papp II; brothers-in-law: William Britt, Kirk Bensinger.
