Karen Jean Fischer, 59, of Cass City, died Sunday, October 19, 2003 in Bay Medical Center, Bay City. She was born February 22, 1944 in Cass City to Louis Nemeth and Elaine (Hartwick) Crane. She married Robert Fischer August 24, 1963 at the Cass City First Presbyterian Church.
Karen worked at HairBenders Beauty Shop for many years. She was a very active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Cass City, serving as a youth group leader and elder. She enjoyed collecting teddybears and reading.
Karen is survived by her husband, Robert; daughter, Bobbi (Frank) Galarno of Saginaw; mother, Elaine Crane of Cass City; father, Louis Nemeth; Brother-in-law, Rebe (Sheri) Fischer of Detroit; niece, Elissa Fischer; many aunts, uncles and cousins. She is preceded in death by her dad, James W. Crane, Sr.; brother, James W. Crane, Jr.; Sister-in-law, Deborah Crane; step-mother, Grace Nemeth.
Funeral services held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 22, 2003 at First Presbyterian Church of Cass City, with Rev. David Blackburn officiating. Interment is in Elkland Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church Youth Group.
