WILLIAM ELLIOTT ELDRIDGE
William E. Eldridge, 83, of Kingston died unexpectedly Sunday, April 16, 2017 in Tuscola County Medical Care Facility, Caro. He was born May 17, 1933 in Ironton, Ohio to Elliott and Sophia (Bundy) Eldridge. He married Betty Sasser on December 11, 1954 in her aunt's home in Alabama.
Bill was stationed in Fort Benning, Georgia while serving in the U.S. Army. He worked for Big Bear Grocery in Ironton, Ohio bagging groceries and later for Pontiac Motors as an assembly line worker. In younger years Bill was a great roller-skater and loved sneaking out of the house with his sisters to dance a Jitterbug. He was a good bowler and enjoyed hunting deer and rabbits. He was a proud member of Kingston AmVets Post # 1072.
Bill is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty and their children: Barbara (James) Dudek of Fairgrove; Beverly Eldridge of Kingston; Bryan (Jill) Eldridge of Kingston; Belinda Eldridge of Kingston; Bridgett Eldridge of Warren; grandchildren: Stephanie (Art) Bernia, Jessica (Dan) Murphy, Amanda Dudek, Gabriel Denniston, Crystal Denniston, Brady (Andrea) Eldridge, Andrea Eldridge; great grandchildren: Sy Bernia, Kent Bernia, Emmaline Murphy, Ethan Murphy, Elliott Murphy, Chase Denniston, Hunter Denniston, Carter Denniston, Connor Eldridge; sisters: Eileen Bishop of Ironton, OH; Gwendolyn Deere of Waverly, OH; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his sisters: Imogene King, Betty Beasley, Virginia Eldridge; nephew James Maynard.
Funeral service held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 20, 2017 in Kranz Funeral Home, Kingston with Pastor Dave Wilczynski of Anchor Cove Church of Caro officiating. Military honors under the direction of Kingston AMVETS Post #1072. Memorials may be made to Family Discretionary Fund or Alzheimer's Association.
