Dale Patrick Doyen

July 9, 1955 — September 6, 2021

DALE PATRICK DOYEN,
66, of Cass City, died peacefully Monday morning, September 6, 2021. He was born July 9, 1955 in Caro to Patrick Francis and Mary Althea (Partlow) Doyen.

From early childhood, Dale was interested in all things related to nature. His interest was cultivated when a bird feeder with a one-way mirror was placed in a window of the family home. Dale also got involved in gardening with his mother. At the age of sixteen, he became interested in taxidermy. Dale learned the art by teaching himself and honed his skills as the years passed. He became well known for the perfection and artistry of his mounts. Dale’s unique skill made these mounted animals appear to be in their natural environments.

He was a constant student of nature and never stopped learning. Dale took the time to notice details around him that most others overlooked. He felt that many people missed out on the beauty found everywhere around them. Dale thoroughly enjoyed conversing with others, especially to teach or to learn. He admired the majesty of large birds of prey and would often sit and watch bald eagles from his property on the bank of the Cass River. Dale also fed owls and other critters during the winter and filmed them to learn more about them and enjoy their eating habits. He loved living off the land and was unimpressed by material things. Dale enjoyed living a natural, simple, life and was loved by many for his kind and generous spirit. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1976 to 1980. Dale was stationed in Rota, Spain and aboard the U.S.S. Oakridge. His passing is mourned by countless friends and loved ones.

Dale is survived by his daughter, Tasia Doyen of Venice, FL; son, Orion Doyen of Port Charlotte, FL; sister, Sandra Doyen Rosteutcher of Fountain Inn, SC; two nieces; two nephews; four great nieces; two great nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sheryl Farnum Gonzales; brothers-in-law: Larry Farnum, Gary Rusteutcher.

A celebration of Dale’s life will take place at a later time. Family and friends may share memories, prayers, and photos with the family at www.kranzfuneralhome.com.
