DOUGLAS NORMAN KUCHARCZYK

     Douglas N. Kucharczyk, 64, of Gagetown, died unexpectedly Saturday, April 19, 2025 in his home. He was born May 5, 1960 in Cass City to Albert E. and Lylan M. (Swartz) Kucharczyk. He married Evonne Gail Hazel on September 17, 1988 in Harbor Beach Catholic Church.

     Doug attended Harbor Beach High School and his first job was working for the Harbor Beach Resort. He was employed as an insurance agent for Combined Insurance; and later, he built and owned the Allway Stop Market in Gagetown. An entrepreneur at heart, Doug also owned Hearts Faith Adult Foster Care Home in Bad Axe. He enjoyed many hobbies including hunting for deer, turkey, and rabbits. Fishing for bass, walleye, perch and bluegill was another favorite pastime. Doug was a music lover of many genres and wasn’t shy about singing and dancing wherever he could. He always had to tell you what he saw on Fox News. Doug was a true family man, and his family was very close. He loved spending every moment he could with his grandchildren.

     Doug is survived by his wife, Evonne; children: Jennifer (Michael) Kucharczyk-Haupt, Matt (Marni) Kucharczyk, Brent Douglas (April) Kucharczyk, Ethan (Katelyn) Kucharczyk, Charnelle (Richard) Wilkie; grandchildren: Chase Stahlbaum, Elizabeth Stahlbaum, Kasper Kucharczyk-Haupt, Evanna (Justin) Govea, Hali Kucharczyk, Matthew Kucharczyk, Jr., Zane Kucharczyk, Devin Wilkie, Dylan Wilkie, Daniel Wilkie, Daenerys Wilkie; great granddaughter, Abree Govea. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Mike Kucharczyk.

     Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 24, 2025 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Deacon David Gillespie of Our Lady Consolata officiating. Interment in Grant Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Evonne Kucharczyk for the family’s discretion.
