Donald Larry Merchant

DONALD LARRY MERCHANT  

     Donald L. Merchant, 80, of Cass City, passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 22, 2023 in his home.  Friends and family all knew him as Larry.  He was born February 13, 1943 in Cass City to Clarence and Maxine (DeLong) Merchant.  He married Judy Nicholas on April 4, 1964 in First Presbyterian Church of Cass City.  She preceded him in death on January 21, 2023.

     Larry attended Cass City Schools.  He was a life long area farmer, following in the footsteps of his parents and generations ahead of him. 

     Larry is survived by his two sons:  Kirt (Anna) Merchant of Gaylord, Mark Merchant of Bay City; special granddaughter and his pride and joy, Katie Merchant of Gaylord; brother, Grant (Vickie) Merchant of Gagetown.      

     Private family service held in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Sam Leppert, Funeral Celebrant officiating.  Interment in Elkland Township Cemetery.
