CURTIS HARLAN DICKINSON
Curtis Harlan Dickinson, 77, of Cass City, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, died Tuesday, October 17, 2006 at home following a lengthy illness. He was born October 10, 1929 in Cass City to Harold and Mable (Albrandt) Dickinson.
Harlan graduated from Cass City High School in 1949 and served in the U.S. Army from 1951-1953 as a corporal. In 1955 he went to work for General Telephone Company as a cable splicer where he met a young �"operator” Marjorie East. Harlan married Marjorie on July 7, 1957 in Richmond, MI. Harlan worked for GTE until his retirement in 1991. He enjoyed cooking, golfing, deer hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. Harlan was an active member of Cass City United Methodist Church.
Harlan is survived by his wife, Marjorie; children: Daniel (Janelle) Dickinson of Cass City, Elizabeth Dickinson of Holland, Jane (Del) Kostanko of Woodland; grandchildren: Curtis, Macy, Samuel, Lauren and Lilia; sisters: Gladys Anthes of Cass City, Dorothy Dickinson of Norway, Judy Esckilsen of Cass City; brother, Rev. Richard Turner of Saginaw. He is preceded in death by twin infant brothers, Ronald and Donald Dickinson; and sister, Marion Ozorowicz.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 20, 2006 in Cass City United Methodist Church with Rev. Paul Donelson, officiating. Memorials may be made to Cass City United Methodist Church or Bay Shore Camp. Interment will take place in Elkland Township Cemetery. Military honors under the direction of Cass City VFW Post #3644 and the US Army. Family and friends may share memories, prayers and stories with the family at www.kranzfuneralhome.com.
