LAURA ANEITA DENHOFF,
92, of Kingston, died following a long illness, Friday, December 27, 2013 in Tuscola County Medical Care Facility, Caro. She was born February 13, 1921 the only child of Vernon and Ada (Jarvis) Green. She married Eldon Everett Denhoff August 24, 1943 in Cass City. He died April 4, 2010.

Aneita attended County Normal and then Central Michigan University where she received her teaching certificate. Aneita was a country school teacher teaching in many area country schools, the last being East Dayton Country School. She also taught for Kingston Community Schools retiring after many years as teacher and then librarian. Aneita was a good, thorough and caring teacher. Many of her former students remember her as being tough, not letting them get away with anything but determined to help them learn. Aneita was a member of OES, Kingston United Methodist Church and Retired Teachers Association. She enjoyed bowling and spending time with friends and family.

Aneita is survived by her children: Betty (Bill) Stark of Beaver Creek, OR, Albert (Marilyn) Denhoff of East Tawas, Mary Kortis of Bella Vista, AR, Carrie (Irv) Gilley of Kingston; grandchildren: Steve (Jaymi), Stark, Brian (Rhonda) Denhoff, Bethany Denhoff, Julie (Randy) Hipps, Chris Kortis, Jeff (Lisa) Kortis, Kate (Mark) Kawiecki and Adam Gilley; great grandchildren: Kenneth, Cole, Kyle, Colin, Allison, Laura, Amber, Sarah, Logan and Abigail. Aneita is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Jill Stark and son-in-law, Joseph Kortis.

Funeral service held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 4, 2014 in Kingston United Methodist Church, Kingston with Rev. Debra Brown officiating. Interment will be in Kingston Cemetery, Kingston. Pallbearers for Mrs. Denhoff: Adam Gilley, Mark Kawiecki, Brian Denhoff, Cole Denhoff, Kyle Denhoff, Colin Denhoff and Randy Hipps. Memorials may be made to Kingston Library or Kingston United Methodist Church. Family and friends may share memories, prayers and stories with the family at www.kranzfuneralhome.com.
