LUCKY SCOTT DELUYCK,
64, of Cass City died Friday, October 12, 2018 in United Hospice Service of Marlette Regional Hospital following a long illness. He was born November 29, 1953 in Highland Park to Cyril and Jane (Roscoe) DeLuyck. He married his wife Darla on December 23, 1989 in East Detroit.
Lucky graduated in 1972 from Lakeshore High School in St. Clair Shores. He worked for a short time after high school for Frank’s Nursery. Lucky started a job with Detroit Edison, and worked there until his recent retirement from the North Area Energy Center garage in Cass City, 45 years later. He worked as a Mechanic, Hydraulic Specialist then Corporate Limousine Driver/Garage Supervisor, then Mechanic again as short hair, suit and tie did not make him happy. Lucky loved to work. He was always busy, never still. He could fix anything. He enjoyed flipping cars. He would buy a car, clean it up, tune it up and sell it. This hobby turned into a passion when he began to restore and sell vintage cars. Lucky enjoyed attending car shows and participating in car cruises. He was a member of the Thumb Area Antique Auto Club. When the girls were younger they enjoyed boating, fishing and camping in the St. Clair Shores area where he grew up. Lucky enjoyed deer hunting with his Dad in the Cass City area long before he relocated here.
Lucky is survived by his wife, Darla; daughters: Amy Marker of Unionville, Andrea (Steven) Anderson of Cass City, Chelsa (Ryan) McCauslin of Manistee; grandchildren: Allison Marker, Connor Middaugh, Jacob Marker, Isaac McCauslin, Elizabeth McCauslin, Johnny Anderson; sister, Jane Wise of Sun City, AZ; several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Elizabeth J. DeLuyck; brother-in-law, William Wise.
