MARION �"MICK” DAWSON
Marion �"Mick” Dawson, 76, of Cass City died Wednesday, December 5, 2007 in Northwood Meadows Medical Care Unit, Cass City following a long illness. He was born September 9, 1931 in Ingham, NB to Clyde and Velna (Stinnette) Dawson. He married Norma Oleson September 10, 1960 in Fairmont, MN.
Mick graduated from Sebeka High School, Sebeka, MN. He served in the US Army in Korea. He graduated from University of Minnesota with distinction and a Bachelor of Business Administration. Mick passed his Certified Public Accounting exam on his first attempt. He was employed with Deloitte and Touche Certified Public Accounting firm for 33 years. Mick was a past member of Michigan Society of Certified Public Accountants, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Detroit Economic Club, and Walnut Creek Country Club of South Lyon where he served as member of their Board of Directors, Treasurer, Finance Committee member and Chairman of the Audit Committee. He was also a member of the Orchard United Methodist Church in Farmington Hills where he served on their Finance Committee, Financial Secretary and on their Missions Committee. Mick was a current member of Cass City United Methodist Church where he was a former member of their Finance Committee.
Mick is survived by his wife, Norma; children: Julie (Rob) Bowman of Waterford, John (Goldie) Dawson of Plymouth; grandchildren: Sarah, Alex, Lucas, Katelyn and Dean; sister-in-law, Ellen Dawson of Tempe, AZ; brother-in-law, Dale Romann of Brooklyn Center, MN; several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Duane Dawson; sister, Donna Dawson Romann.
Funeral service held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, December 9, 2007 in Cass City United Methodist Church with Rev. Paul Donelson, officiating. Memorials may be made to Cass City United Methodist Church Building Fund or Northwood Meadows Medical Care Unit. Mick will be interred in Oakland Hills Cemetery in Novi.
