GREGORY JAMES DAILY
58, of Mayville, died after complications of a medical event on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 in Covenant Medical Center Cooper Campus, Saginaw. He was born December 19, 1962 in Saginaw to James and Beverly (Cumper) Daily.
Greg graduated from Kingston High School in 1981. He attended Michigan State University and graduated with an associate’s degree in Livestock Management. During his time at MSU, he was on the livestock judging team, participated in the Block and Bridle Club, and was a member of the Farmhouse Fraternity. Greg returned to the family farm with his father, where he took ownership of farming crops and managing a cow/calf herd. Greg loved watching his children’s sporting events while they were in high school, never missing a game, and continued to support Kingston athletics after his children graduated. He supported his children well into their collegiate and young-adult careers. Greg was passionate about 4-H programs, for years showing cattle himself, and supported his children’s interest in showing hogs, sheep, and cattle at county, state, and national levels. He always looked forward to his travels out west and the search for good livestock. Greg also served as Tuscola County Farm Bureau President from 2001-2004 and continued to be active in leadership and agriculture roles beyond those years. Away from the farm, Greg enjoyed relaxing in Caseville with his family and friends. He was an avid cook that would spend countless hours in the kitchen cooking and canning.
Greg was the drop in neighbor that never failed to bring out laughter. He was always up for drives around the community to check out “the news”, a trip to see the sunset, going to grab an ice cream cone or taking a crop tour. His quick, witty humor was always trying to make you smile. He was a devoted son who treated his parents with the everlasting love and respect that they deserved. Greg poured his life into his family and was the definition of what a father, son, brother, and partner should be. His kids were his absolute pride and joy. Even after death, Greg’s selflessness carried on saving lives through the decision to be an organ donor. He will be forever missed by his friends and family.
Greg is survived by his daughter, Quinnlin Daily of Shelby Township; Clay Daily of Mineral Point, WI; parents, James and Beverly Daily of Kingston; sister, Janelle (Frank) Hester of Wheatland, WY; nieces: Madissen Hester, Emily Hester; significant other, Linda Strasz of Caro. He is preceded in death by his grandparents: James and Ada Daily, Dudley and Merle Cumper.
