WILLIAM DON CUTLIP,
71, of Deford died unexpectedly in his home Saturday, December 17, 2011. He was born December 26, 1939 in Farmington, West Virginia to James and Elizabeth Mary Ann (Glover) Cutlip. He married Lorraine Arlene VanDuker June 28, 1969 in East Detroit.
Don graduated from Farmington High School and attended two years of college. He served in the U.S. Army. He worked for American Extrusion in Troy, Jones Motor in Detroit, Hare Cartage in Detroit, Eaton Foundry in Vassar, and Frankenmuth Brewery in Frankenmuth. He worked as a mail carrier in Midland and he retired in 2002 from U.S. Manufacturing in Bad Axe after 18 years. Don was a kind, gentle and loving man, . always willing to help. He was a longtime member of the Caro Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #3587 and held a dual membership with the Fairmont, WV Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #2373. He enjoyed his family and loved watching his grandchildren's sporting events. For years Don and Lorraine have been distributors of Rada Cutlery participating in many area fairs and craft shows. He truly enjoyed gardening, tending his black walnut trees and fighting the squirrels for the walnut harvest.
Don is survived by his wife, Lorraine; children: Anthony Bennett of Lapeer, Elliott Lee (Kimberly) Vinson III of Caro, Bernadette (DeLane) Redman of Grand Ledge; grandchildren: Christopher, Shana, Amber (Gordon), Preston (Jill), Kelli, Rebecca (Dustin), Amanda (Robert), Ashley (Joe), Jared, Hayleigh, Justin, Anthony; great grandchildren: Jacob, Hayleigh, Carter, Autumn, Brianna, James, Hunter, Alayna, Bayleigh, Jaden, Hannah, Brady, Sabina, Mia, Gavin, Joey, Natalie; sister, Pat (Eugene) Paxton of Livonia; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and their families. He is preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Sarah (Chester) Craig; his parents; his uncle and aunt and guardians, John (Laura) Cutlip.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2011 in Kranz Funeral Home, Kingston with Rev. Debra Brown of Kingston United Methodist Church officiating.
