JOHNIA MAE CURRY
Johnia M. Curry, 77, of Kingston, died Tuesday, August 10, 2004 with her family at her side, in Covenant Health Care System, Cooper Campus, Saginaw after a long illness. She was born May 10, 1927 in Poplar Bluff, MO to John and Myrtle (Chaffin) Hayes. She married Lyle W. Curry December 9, 1946 in Caro. He died November 19, 1976.
Johnia worked together with her husband on their Dairy farm. She drove school bus for Kingston School District for several years. Johnia was a 4-H leader for over 25 years, instructing homemaking and sewing among other areas. She loved to sew, making clothes and loved to embroider and quilt, making a baby quilt for all the grandchildren. She enjoyed snowmobiling and going to the cabin in Rose City. She was a member of the Kingston Wesleyan Church. Johnia loved her family and truly enjoyed rocking the grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Johnia is survived by her children: Lyle (Cathie) Curry of Kingston, LaWanda (Ron) Adamczyk of Kingston, Brenda (Karl) Read of Presque Isle; grandchildren: Wayne (Debbie) Curry; Amy (Dwayne) Bates, Dan (Quinn) Curry, Cindy (Jim) Leen, Carol (Dan) Wenzlaff, Ron (Jeanie) Adamczyk, Terri (Lee) Germain, Michael Germain, Joe Read, Becky Read; sister, Ruby Presson. She is preceded in death by sisters and brothers-in-law: Anne (Elmer) Diamond, Elizabeth (Alfred) Fields; brother, Albert Hayes.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 13, 2004 in Kingston Wesleyan Church, Kingston with Rev. Ken Sandefur officiating. Interment will be in Indianfields Township Cemetery, Caro. Memorials may be made to the Family Discretionary Fund. Pallbearers for Mrs. Curry are: Wayne Curry, Dan Curry, Ron Adamczyk, Michael Germain, Jim Leen, Dan Wenzlaff, Dwayne Bates and Nate Bolles.
Visitation: 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday, August 12, 2004 10 to 11 p.m. Friday, August 13, 2004, in church
