WAYNE DAILY CREASON,
85, of Caro died following a long illness Friday, August 5, 2011 in his home with his family by his side. He was born December 10, 1925 in Kokomo, IN to Daily and Edna (James) Creason. He married Bertha Jean Schenk September 9, 1955 in Cass City First Baptist Church. She died May 11, 2011.
Wayne farmed with his family before joining the U.S. Army. He was stationed in Yuma, AZ working as a builder hauling rock to fill the area for a three mile airstrip for practice aircraft landings. Wayne also worked as Military Police while in the US Army during the Korean War. After his military service, he worked with a private installer installing home furnaces in the Saginaw area. Wayne then worked for General Motors at the Gray Iron Foundry as a pipefitter for over 13 years working 7 days a week. He started the Malzohn Street Southern Baptist Church in Saginaw serving many positions including Deacon and Assistant Pastor. Wayne also enjoyed deer hunting.
Wayne is survived by his children: Anna Matthews of Caro, Diana Creason of Caro, Barb (Steve) Conaway of Rowan, IN, Randy Creason of Caro, Roxanne McLellan of Caro, Larry Creason of Caro; 16 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; brother, Charles Creason of Cass City; several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by son, Wayne Creason; brothers: Thomas Creason, Alfred Creason, Frank Creason; sisters: Pauline Mills, Adeline Winchester.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 8, 2011 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Rev. Chuck Carr of Cass City First Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in Elkland Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Family Discretionary Fund.
