MANETTE SUE CRAWFORD,
60, of Lincoln Park, died Tuesday, July 2, 2019 in Vibra Hospital of Southeastern Michigan – Taylor Campus, Taylor. She was born October 16, 1958 in Cass City to Norman Robert and Virginia Anita (Bluhm) Crawford.
Manette graduated from Cass City High School with the class of 1976. She received a Bachelor’s degree in teaching from Concordia College of Nebraska. Manette went on to earn a Master’s degree in educational technology from Central Michigan University. Her first teaching job was at a school in the southern tip of Texas on the Mexico border. She taught in Mount Hope Lutheran in Allen Park, St. John the Baptist Catholic School in Dearborn Heights, St. Paschal Baylon Catholic School-Taylor Catholic School in Taylor. Recently she taught computers, robotics and yearbook classes in St. Frances Cabrini School of Allen Park. Manette was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church of Southgate where, in the past, she played handbells. Most recently she volunteered as Technology Assistant at weekend services. Manette enjoyed many hobbies including camping, gardening, antiques and origami. She also enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers baseball games. Manette was continuously knitting something special for family and friends, especially socks and baby afghans. She loved taking photographs of flowers and her family.
Manette is survived by her sisters: Anita Crawford of Phoenix, AZ; Sharon (Alan) Maurer of Bad Axe; Sharla Crow of Sikeston, MO; Lora (Richard) Kulinski of Deford; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Phil and Marcia Sansotta of Farmington Hills. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, David Crawford.
Funeral service held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 6, 2019 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Rev. Harry Edenfield officiating. Memorials may be made to Christ the King Lutheran Church of Southgate or charity of donor’s choice. Interment will be in Novesta Township Cemetery.
