John H. Crase, 66, of Deford, died Thursday, March 18, 2004 in Tendercare Nursing Facility, Cass City. He was born December 23, 1937 in Detroit to Harvey and Lynne (Sullivan) Crase. John served in the U.S. Air Force on the Marshall Islands and in the U.S. after the Korean War. He was a screw machine operator for Pegasus in Troy, and Piper Industries in Clawson. John worked as a probation officer in Lapeer County for a few years. He enjoyed mechanics. John is survived by his children: Tanya (Brian) Robinson of Deford, Orene �"Lynn Crase of Oxford and Mitchell Crase of Lake Orion; grandchildren: Brianna Robinson, Katie Longpre, Zachary Robinson; wife, Orene Crase of Deford; brothers: Bob Crase of Marlette, Scott Crase of Sarnia, Ontario; sisters: Pat Crase of Rochester, Jill Crase of Rochester, Jeannie of Port Huron, Chari Gillette of Running Springs, CA and Nancy Crase of Port Huron; many nieces and nephews. John is preceded in death by two infant sons and his parents. Funeral services to be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 22, 2004 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City, with Pastor JT Mabe of Mizpah Missionary Church officiating. Memorials may be made to the Family Discretionary Fund. Interment of Mr. Crase cremated remains will take place at a later date.
