Donald Craig

Donald George Craig, 91, of Cass City, died Tuesday, August 5, 2008, in St. Mary’s Hospital. He was born December 25, 1916 near Elkton. He was the son of the late Bill and Margaret (Gascho) Craig. He married Fay Boerner in Eastpointe in 1984.
Donald grew up in the Elkton area until he was about 20 years of age. He then moved to Detroit and worked at Packard Motor of Detroit. The rest of his working life he was employed with the U.S. Postal System as a mail carrier working in Eastpointe, until he retired in 1984. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, in Cass City. He loved classic cars, music, singing, ballroom dancing, traveling, and loved the big bands. He was also an avid reader, but mostly loved his family.
Donald is survived by his wife, Fay of Cass City, children: Linda (Hans) Rudi of St. Clair Shores; Sally Gage of Rochester Hills; grandson, Michael (Colleen) Rudi of Warren; sister, Bessie Muntz of Cass City; brother, Glen (Ethel) Craig of Elkton and sister-in-law, Thelma Craig of Pigeon. Also surviving are several beloved nieces and nephews.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 9, 2008 in the First Presbyterian Church of Cass City with Rev. David Blackburn, officiating. Visitation will be Friday August 8, 2008, from 12 noon until 9 p.m. at the Kranz Funeral Home in Cass City, and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. at the church. Cremation will follow at Sunset Valley Crematory in Bay City.
