MAX EDWIN COOPER,
91, of Cass City, died Saturday, March 2, 2019 in Medilodge of Cass City. He was born September 5, 1927 in Cass City to Fred and Nellie (Peter) Cooper. He married Mary Ann Vargo November 30, 1957 in Cass City.
Max graduated from Kingston High School and was drafted into the Army as a heavy equipment operator during the Korean War. He completed courses in agriculture from Michigan State University and worked as a dairy farmer until he sold in 1965. Max owned and operated an animal health supply company for fifteen years. He later went to work for Kelly & Co. Realty, as a real estate agent, for fifteen years. Max enjoyed working with hard woods and made beautiful furniture for his family.
Max is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; children: Timothy (Jean) Cooper of Greenleaf, WI; Elmer “Joe” (Holly) Cooper of Owendale; Jerry (Renee) Cooper of Unionville; daughter in law, Sally (Drew) Guernsey of Tucson, AZ; grandchildren: Jeramie Cooper, Dwana Cooper, Ryan Cooper, Brandy (Neville) Patterson, Brent (An) Cooper, Kelsey Cooper; several great grandchildren; sister, Shirley Wolfe of Fenton; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his infant son Jeffrey; son, Daniel Cooper; brother, Linton Cooper; sister, Janet Lottridge.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2019 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Rev. Robert Eastlick officiating. Interment will be in Kingston Cemetery. Military honors conducted by Cass City VFW Post # 3644 and the US Army. Memorials may be made to Family Discretionary Fund.
