ESTELLA C. COOKLIN
Estella C. Cooklin, of Bradenton, Florida, formerly of Cass City, died Monday, May 24, 2004, in Tendercare Nursing Facility, Cass City. She was born July 15, 1908 in Kingston to Daniel Andrew and Millie (Hichok) Tallman. She married Henry Cooklin on March 19, 1937 in Detroit. He died August 1, 1988.
Estella and Henry ran a logging business, later they farmed and owned the Cass City Locker Plant. She loved gardening, flowers and cooking. Estella took her grandchildren on vacations with her. She spent the winters in Florida for about 40 years. Estella loved her family and friends, especially her Christian friends.
Estella is survived by her grandchildren: Cathy (Larry) Smith of Cass City, Henry (Debbie) Cooklin of Monticello, IL, Henrietta (Scott) Shaw of Marlette, Robert Cooklin of Sunrise, FL, Sue Ann (Jim) Csizmadia of Deckerville, Jim Cooklin of Yale, Stephen Cooklin of Munger; 9 great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter; daughter-in-law, Coiene Cooklin. She is preceded in death by her son, George Cooklin; daughter, Betty McCoon; grandson, Craig Ryland; great grandson, Shawn Csizmadia; and all her siblings.
Funeral services held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 27, 2004 at Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City, with Lecil Sullivan and Darren Briggs officiating. Interment is in Ellington Cemetery, Caro. Pallbearers for Mrs. Cooklin: Larry Smith, Scott Shaw, Ryan Shaw, Nick Pohlod, Henry Cooklin and Stephen Cooklin. Memorials may be made to the Tendercare Nursing Facility.
