DONALD PAUL COOK,
74, of Cass City died unexpectedly at home Wednesday, June 19, 2019 with his longtime companion, Karen by his side. He was born January 12, 1945 in Kokomo, Indiana to Ellen Cook.
As a young man, Don worked for various farms in the Thumb area. He worked for General Motors for ten years before beginning a career as an over the road truck driver. Don drove for Yellow Freight, Ford Motor Parts and a steel hauling company. Don also worked for Bartnik Service and Zimba Farms. He enjoyed working on his farm and repairing cars and semi-trucks. Don loved spending time with his beloved grandsons. Don and Karen shared a love of animals and through their years together, rescued many dogs and cats.
Don is survived by his companion of thirty-one years, Karen Wright of Cass City; grandsons: Blake King, Zander King; three brothers: Jeffery McCrumb of Kokomo, IN; Patrick (Kathy) McCrumb of Kokomo, IN; Robert Cook of CA; sisters: Tonja Whitmore of CA; Linda Donaldson of Kokomo, IN; a special aunt, Tomy Cook of Cass City; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother; uncles: Earnest Cook, Lloyd Cook; aunts: Emma Long, Shirley Pope.
Funeral service held 3:00 p.m. Monday, June 24, 2019 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Brad Speirs of Novesta Church of Christ, Cass City officiating. Interment is in Novesta Township Cemetery. Pallbearers for Mr. Cook will be: Wayne Kinney, Blake King, Zander King, Pat McCrumb, Jeff McCrumb, Patrick McCrumb. Memorials may be made to The Humane Society or American Heart Association.
