DENNIS JOE COOK
Dennis J. Cook, 62, of Cass City, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at home. He is remembered through his two children, Leah and Vaden; their spouses, Allen and Amy; and his eight grandchildren, Aurora, Conall, Adam, Draco, Colette, Sloane, Drake, and Cameron.
Dennis worked for General Motors for 15 years before taking an early retirement. He then had a second ten-year career as a gardener and landscaper, specializing in rock gardens. He retired a second and final time to Cass City to enjoy his passions for gardening and reading. He also found a love for animals by caring for three miniature horses, two dogs, two cats and two finches.
Dennis was a tough person to get to know, but once you did, he was kind-hearted, gentle, and-most rare these days-accepting. He was the type of person who would give you the shirt off his back and all the ones in his closet, too. He was a great listener and a close friend to those fortunate to know him. He will be missed, but never forgotten. Hail to thee, blithe spirit!
A Memorial service for Dennis will take place at a later date. Memorials may be made to Rawson Memorial Library or Cass River Pet Friendz. Family and friends may share memories, prayers and stories with the family at www.kranzfuneralhome.com.
