THELMA JOYCE "BOBBIE" CHURCHILL
Thelma. J. "Bobbie" Churchill, 68, of Cass City, died following a long illness Saturday, April 9, 2016 in Hills & Dales General Hospital. She was born March 1, 1948 in Howell to James Edgar and Evelyn Ilene (Perkins) VanValkenburgh. She married Clarence Nelson "Skip" Churchill on February 24, 1968 in Cass City at the Gun Club. He died March 26, 2012.
Bobbie graduated from Howell High School. She worked for General Cable then as a Resident Care Aid for Caro Center retiring after over 30 years. Bobbie enjoyed crocheting, reading, playing scrabble, working crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles. But most important to Bobbie were her grandchildren.
Bobbie is survived by her children: Angelia (Mark) House in Cass City, Johnathon Churchill of Cass City, Melanie (Ryan) Radabaugh of Cass City; grandchildren: Anthony, Katie, Matthew, Madison, Colin; sisters: Laura (Jim) Stauffer of Kinde, Linda Wood of Bad Axe, Chris (Marv) Swartzendruber of Pigeon, Kathy Birchfield of Filion; brothers: Randy (Laurie) VanValkenburgh of Grindstone, Tommy (Carol) VanValkenburgh of Texas, Steve VanValkenburgh of Gagetown, Doug VanValkenburgh of Filion, Raymond (Dawn) VanValkenburgh of Elkton, Michael (Tammy) VanValkenburgh of Palms, Robert VanValkenburgh of Filion, Jimmy VanValkenburgh of Pinnebog; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by brothers: John VanValkenburgh, Richard VanValkenburgh, William VanValkenburgh; sister, Judy Bannister; and by her parents.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2016 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Rev. Jackie Roe of Cass City United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Elkland Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Family Discretionary Fund.
