Norma J. Campbell, 68, of Caro, formerly of Kingston, died Friday, October 29, 2010 in United Hospice of Marlette Residence Center, Marlette. She was born September 8, 1942 in Brown City to Eugene and Virginia (Houghteling) Cummings. She married Ernest A. Campbell April 29, 1961 in Dayton Center Church, Silverwood.
Norma worked for Snover Stamping, Active Homes, Kingston Bank and C & C Home Builders. She was a member of Kingston Wesleyan Church and served as Sunday School Teacher and sang in the choir for many years. Norma was also a member of the Tom Thumb Singers and the Highland Ridge Chorale in Florida. Norma and Ernie were members of the Arrowhead Golf Course in Caro participating in several leagues there, reigning as Club League Champions a few years. They were also members of Highland Ridge Golf Course in Florida and attended United Congregational Church in Avon Park, FL. Norma served on the Kingston Days Committee helping for many years with several activities. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, bowling, exercise and gardening.
Those left to cherish Norma’s memory are her husband, Ernie; children: Wade Campbell of Clio, Bryan (Shelly) Campbell of Kingston, Shane (Penny) Campbell of Imlay City, Stacey Campbell of Saginaw, Judy (Jim) Swoish of Vassar; daughter-in-law, Jenni Campbell; grandchildren: Josh, Zach, Kayla, Frank, Trischa, Izack, Izabella, Justin, Adam, Laken, Blake, Noah, Jeff, Carletta; great grandchildren: Cristian, Ashlyn, Amelia, Elizabeth; brother, Elton “Butch” (Joann) Cummings of Caro; sister, Connie (Melvin) Witkovsky of Caro; brothers-in-law: Dennis Seiler of Deckerville, Ray (Carolyn) Campbell of Auburn Hills, Larry (Connie) Campbell of Attica, Dave (Alice) Campbell of Caro; sisters-in-law: Carol (D.C.) Mason, Judy Cummings of Kingston; stepbrothers and sisters: Dorothy (Junior) Gilmore of Mayville, Jay (Mabel) Caverly of Kingston, Bonnie (Chuck) Cummings of Mayville, Cap (Kay) Caverly of Kingston, Raymond (Carol) Caverly of Cass City, Linda (Jimmy) Harris of Fostoria; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by parents: Eugene (Deliah) Cummings of Kingston and Virginia (Keith) Fockler of Deckerville; mother-in-law, Anna Campbell Howey; brother, Dale Cummings; sister, Nancy Seiler; stepsister, Laurel Miller.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 2, 2010 in Kingston Wesleyan Church with Pastor Len Wyatt officiating. Interment will be in Kingston Cemetery. Pallbearers for Mrs. Campbell are friends and classmates of the Kingston High School Class of 1960: Daryl Allen, Roland Armstrong, Jim Green, Joe Peet, Don Swalwell and Bob Schwarderer. Memorials may be made to United Hospice of Marlette Residence Center or Kingston Wesleyan Church.
