Dorothy M. Buxton, 89, of Kingston, died Friday, June 27, 2003 in Tendercare Nursing Facility, Cass City. She was born June 7, 1914 in Frontenac, KA to Edward and Emma Jane (Hoffman) Hromek. She married Gerald L. Buxton June 7, 1934 in Detroit.
Dorothy retired in 1975 from General Motors as a line inspector after 23 years. She spent her winters in Webster, Florida for many years. Dorothy enjoyed her flower garden. She was also a wonderful cook and made delicious pies. She was a member of the Kingston United Methodist Church. She is remembered as a hardworking, family-oriented, wonderful person.
Dorothy is survived by her children: Gerald L. (Sandy) Buxton of Royal, AR, Ernest E. “Corky” (Donna) Buxton of Fenton, Barbara A. (Jim) Harp of Deford; grandchildren: Jay Buxton, Terri (Charles) Taylor, Deborah (Rick) Brower, Cathy (Doug) Dubois, Sue (Brad) Gandy, Tyler Harp, Dana Garrett, Dwayne Garrett; 11 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Julie Stoll and siblings: Harold, Edward and Wanda.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 27, 2003 at Kingston United Methodist Church with Rev. Terry Butters officiating. Memorials may be made to Charity of the Donor’s Choice.
