Wanda M. Burns, 84, of Cass City, died Thursday, January 8, 2004 in her home. She was born May 23, 1919 in Dayton Township to Horace and Grace (Hodges) Clement. She married John J. Burns October 17, 1939 in Mayville. He died January 8, 2000.
Wanda and John owned grocery stores in Kingston, Marlette and North Branch over the years. Wanda managed the store in Marlette and helped with the others. She was a member of Kingston Wesleyan Church. Wanda truly loved and enjoyed her family. They were a very important part of her life.
Wanda is survived by her children: Patricia (Clyde) Vaught o Mayville, John C. (Mary Lou) Burns of Cass City, Mary (Thomas) Johnston of Frankenmuth; grandchildren: Michael (Angie) Walker, Joy (Randy) Perkins, Julie (Dave) Swain, Stephanie (David) Hutchinson, Lisa Burns, Julie Johnston, Rachel Johnston, Amy (Tom) Johnson; great grandchildren: Krista, Joshua, Andy, Rachel, Laura, Mason, Nathan, Darren, Courtney, and Kyle; sisters-in-law; Marjorie Torr of North Branch, Connie Clement of Lansing; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by an infant daughter, Suzanne; grandson, Gregory Walker; sisters: Lucille Randall, Elizabeth Davidson, Alice Rock, Vera Shaver, Arlene Rutherford; brothers: Howard Clement, Carl Clement, Don Clement, Pete Clement, Dale Clement.
Funeral service held 11:00 Monday, January 12, 2004 in Kingston Wesleyan Church with Rev. Ken Sandefur, officiating. Memorials may be made to the Kingston Wesleyan Church. Interment is in Kingston Cemetery, Kingston.
