THOMAS D. BURNS,
91, of Bay City, died unexpectedly Friday, June 23, 2017 in McLaren Bay Region, Bay City. He was born February 27, 1926 in Kingston to Thomas and Blanch (Thorp) Burns.
Tom served in the U.S. Army during World War II stationed in Marseille, France. He received a degree in accounting and worked as an accountant with Mobil Oil in Bay City, retiring after many years. Tom was a member of First Congregational Church of Bay City where he served faithfully as treasurer. In years past, Tom loved bowling.
Tom is survived by his nieces: Kay (Gene) Severson of Marlette; Sharon Hill of Fond du Lac, WI; Marcella (Sherwin) Schumaker of Waterford; several great nephews and nieces. He is preceded in death by his brother, Woodrow Burns; sister, Grace Lothrop.
Funeral service held 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 26, 2017 in Kranz Funeral Home, Kingston with Rev. Kellie French of First Congregational Church of Bay City officiating. Interment will be in Kingston Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the charity of donor’s choice. Family and friends may share memories, prayers and stories with the family at www.kranzfuneralhome.com.
