REV. DONALD RALPH BURNS,
74, of Cass City, formerly of Shawneetown, IL died following a long illness Sunday, January 20, 2013 in his home. He was born September 24, 1938 in Eldorado, IL to Herbert Monroe and Flora Imogene (Capeheart) Burns.
Donald worked as an over the road truck driver retiring after many years with R G Berry Trucking of Shawneetown, IL. He also was a crop farmer for many years. Donald was an ordained Pentecostal Minister since 1969. He was a pet lover, especially of his many dogs. Fishing was his passion. He loved driving truck but talking to people about God was his favorite thing to do.
Donald is survived by his daughter, Julie Wilson of Flint; grandchildren: Kristopher Twining, Jeromey (Lisa) Weinert, Kaysee Weinert, Rena Weinert, Amy Burns; 5 great grandchildren; sister, Della Brunner of Equality, IL; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by children: stillborn twin girls; sons: Donald Burns and James Monroe Burns; granddaughter, Krystal Weinert; sister Mary Ann; parents, Herbert and Flora Burns. .
Memorial service held later at his home in Cass City. Interment is in Hogan Cemetery, Shawneetown, IL. Memorials may be made to Family Discretionary Fund. Family and friends may share memories, prayers and stories with the family at www.kranzfuneralhome.com.
