MARGARET S. BURNS
Margaret Burns, 90, of Cass City, died peacefully in her bed with her family by her side Christmas morning Tuesday, December 25, 2007, in Tuscola County Medical Care Facility, Caro following a short illness. She was born December 11, 1917 in Evergreen Township to Daniel and Ethel (Bond) McNaughton. She married Robert Jacob Burns July 2, 1938 in Decker. He died November 5, 1989.
Margaret was a longtime member of the Shabbona United Methodist Church and later a member of the Cass City United Methodist Church. She worked for many years at Cass City Hospital and for many years for Dr. Ivan MacRae. Margaret worked a few years for Little’s Funeral Home and for the last 13 years was a very valued member of the staff of Kranz Funeral Home. Margaret was a member of Extension and was a former 4H leader. She loved to sew (teaching each of her daughters), crochet and quilt. Family was very important to Margaret. She was very proud of and truly enjoyed each and every member of her family.
Margaret is survived by her children: JoAnn (Robert) McComb of DeWitt, Jack Burns of Cass City, Mary (Richard) Hacker of Houghton Lake; grandchildren: Sara (Abhijit) Deshmukh, Tom (Kerry) McComb, Mark (Tammy) McComb, Tracey (Matthew) Jaworski, Amy (Chris) Onley, Corey Hacker, Mindy (Ron) Parrott; great grandchildren: Katelyn, Jacob, Hannah, Chloee, Grace Margaret, Caton, Corbin, Briana, Bradyn and the tenth due in April; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her sisters and brothers-in-law: Hazel and Jay Stoutenburg, Irene and Lloyd Bader, Belva and Lorn McIntosh; brother and sister-in-law, Elwyn and Mary McNaughton and very special friend, James Grant Brown.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 28, 2007 in Kranz Funeral Home - Cass City with Rev. Paul Donelson of Cass City United Methodist Church and Rev. Peter Crawford of Millington United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Elkland Township Cemetery, Cass City. Pallbearers for Mrs. Burns are her grandchildren.
