YVONNE MARIE BURLESON
Yvonne M. Burleson, 84, of Cass City, died Sunday, November 9, 2008 in Tuscola County Medical Care Facility, Caro. She was born October 23, 1924 in Flat Rock to Harold and May (Nowland) Mittlestat. She married James Thomas “JT” Burleson January 23, 1943 in Detroit. He died February 21, 1986.
Yvonne worked as a crossing guard for Cass City Schools for 14 years. Yvonne enjoyed bowling and began bowling the year the bowling alley opened. She enjoyed reading, cooking and writing poetry. Her greatest love was her family.
Yvonne is survived by her children: James (Diane) Burleson of Mountain Home, AR, Brenda (Bill) Tonak of Westland, Richard Burleson of Cass City, Robert (Lou) Burleson of Deford, Raymond (Kelly) Burleson of Owendale, Donna (Lester) Auten of Cass City; 15 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; brothers: Harold (Betty) Mittlestat of Tucson, AZ, Glen (JoAnn) Mittlestat of Brown City, Charles (Gail) Mittlestat of Irons; sisters: Joyce (Jake) Jacot of Las Vegas, NV, Mary Helen (Richard) Gault of Vassar, Barb (Donald) Hendrick of Cass City; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her sister, Shirley Hossler; brothers: Clifford, Earl and Matthew Mittlestat.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 13, 2008 in Cass City First Baptist Church with Rev. David Hill officiating. Interment will be in Elkland Township Cemetery.
