AURELIA MILAGROS �"MILA” NEPOMUCENO BRUNNER
Mila Brunner, 70, of Kingston, died Wednesday, February 22, 2006 in Marlette Hospice Residence, Marlette, after a long illness. She was born November 12, 1935 in Manila, Philippines to Dr. Perfecto and Dolores (Alvarez) Nepomuceno. She married Robert J. Brunner April 23, 1962 in Southfield.
Mila finished high school at age 14. At 18, she graduated from the University of Santo Tomas, Manila, (magna cum laude Chemistry).Mila graduated with a master's degree in Chemistry from the University of Detroit and with a masters degree Library Science from Sam Houston State University in Texas. She worked as a Chemical Information Technologist for Parker Rustproof/Oxymetal in Detroit for ten years; Shell Oil in Houston, TX for 18 years; Argonne National Laboratories in Chicago for three years; and General Motors, Warren. Recently Mila has worked in Davenport College’s library system in Bad Axe, Saginaw, Caro, Midland and Bay City. She was active in parish activities as a catechist, lector, Eucharistic minister. Mila was active in Girl Scouts as a troop leader, adult trainer and while in Texas she chaired the Galveston-Houston Diocesan Committee on Catholic Girl Scouting. Mila volunteered with the Community Development in Caro. She loved traveling and reading.
Mila is survived by her husband, Robert; children: Christine (David) Agnew of Clarkston, Robert (Trixie Enriquez) Brunner Jr. of Santa Monica, CA, Megan (Steven) Kretzing of Austin, TX; grandchildren: Scott Agnew, Jonathan Agnew, and her third grandchild, baby Kretzing, due in March; siblings: Emerita Sevilla of CA, Perfecto (Juanita) Nepomuceno of Bella Vista, AR, Adrian (Teresita) Nepomuceno of Vancouver, BC, Bienvenido (Milagros) Nepomuceno of Diamond Bar, CA; stepmother, Josefa Peconcillo Nepomuceno of Vancouver, BC; many nieces, nephews and godchildren whom she loved dearly. She is preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Perfecto Nepomuceno and Delores Alvarez and siblings: Eunice, Rene, and Trinidad.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 27, 2006 in St. Michael Catholic Church, Wilmot with Rev. Reginaldo Salcedo and Sr. Riccardina Silvestri officiating. Pallbearers for Mila: Eric Brunner, Michael Brunner, Consuelo Kinahan, Felicia Nepomuceno, Enid Sevilla, Virgil Sevilla. Memorials may be made to St. Michael Catholic Church, St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Clifford or United Hospice of Marlette.
