WILLIAM JAY BROWNING
William J. Browning, 82, of Kingston died following a short illness Tuesday, August 23, 2011 in Covenant Medical Center Cooper Campus, Saginaw. He was born June 19, 1929 at home in Kingston to Robert William and Cora (Mannley) Browning. He married Ethel Mae Green in 1956. She died December 19, 1987.
Bill was drafted into the U.S. Army and served in Korea during the Korean War. After returning he worked for Pontiac Motors for 33 years until his retirement. He still holds his Barbers license that he earned as a young man. Bill enjoyed deer hunting and pheasant hunting years ago. He enjoyed woodworking making many bird houses for around the farm. Bill loved cats and adopted many strays that showed up at his house.
Bill is survived by his son, Robert (Deloris Proctor) Browning of Kingston; special friend of many years, Ruth Overbaugh of Caro; sister, Kate Kaflly of Drayton Plains; several nieces and nephews including Ed Browning and JoAnn Browning. He is preceded in death by his brothers: Roy Browning, Robert Browning, Raymond Browning and Joe Beas; sisters Grace Scott and Hazel Parks.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 27, 2011 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Rev. Jerry Schriber officiating. Interment will be in Brookside Cemetery, Fairgrove.
