Robert Brown

ROBERT HILTON BROWN,
82, of Cass City, died unexpectedly while visiting his grandson, March 20, 2010 in Rapid City Regional Hospital, Rapid City, South Dakota. He was born February 1, 1928 at home in Tyre to Lloyd Hilton and Clara Mae (Gibbard) Brown. He married Marian R. Keller December 20, 1952 in Argyle. She died May 29, 1996.

Robert was a dairy farmer most of his life, later a hog farmer. He also did lumbering for others in the area and fumigated railroad cars for the State of Michigan for a time. He served on the Greenleaf Township Board of Review for over 40 years. Robert loved sports including hunting and fishing. He played on several softball teams over the years and coached the Cumber Softball team. Robert was an avid reader and loved his politics and was willing to share his opinions.

Robert is survived by his children: Daniel Brown of Cass City, Diane (Craig) Walsh of Ubly, Debra (Thomas) Rodriguez of Cass City; grandchildren: Robert (B.J.) Osentoski, Aaron Osentoski, Tommy (Leslie) Rodriguez, Melinda (Paul) Kasat, Rachelle (Jeremy) Vredeveld, Aaron Rodriguez, Rebekah Rodriguez; several great grandchildren: sister, Florence Dyet of Arizona; brothers: Clare (Georgene) Brown of Ubly, Keith (Joyce) Brown of Ubly; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his sister, Phyllis Pelton; brother, Jay Brown and infant brother, Billy.

Memorial service held 11:00 a.m. Sunday, May 30, 2010 in Kranz Funeral Home Cass City. Memorials may be made to Family Discretionary Fund. Family and friends may share memories, prayers and stories with the family at www.kranzfuneralhome.com.
