CLARE MORRIS BROWN,
92, of Ubly, died peacefully surrounded by family, May 1, 2022 in the comfort of his home. He was born October 28, 1929 at home in Greenleaf Township to Lloyd Hilton and Clara Mae (Gibbard) Brown. He married Georgene Ann Lowe on June 23, 1951 in Cass City.
Clare graduated from Cass City High School and went on to serve in the United States Army from 1955 to 1957. He owned and operated a dairy farm with Georgene for thirty-five years. His faithful companion, Freddie, the basset hound, followed Clare everywhere and enjoyed rides with him on the tractor. He hauled canned and bulk milk on his numerous truck routes. For seventeen years, Clare continued working as a truck driver for Nichols and Sons. Clare was a member of the Greenleaf Township Historical Society. His interests included playing softball and watching the Detroit Tigers.
Clare is survived by his wife of seventy-one years, Georgene; son, William (Sandra) Brown of Cass City; grandchildren: Mike (Emily) Brown of Bay City, Kelly (Mike) Murphy of Freeland, Ryan Young of Ubly, Nick (Rachelle) Young of Ubly, Trever Brown of Cass City; great grandchildren: Logan Brown, Lexie Brown, Devin Murphy, Madison Murphy, Keagon Young, Kembrianna Young, Kenzington Young, Alli-Lynn Connolly. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Young-Brown; sisters: Phyllis Pelton, Florence Dyet; brothers: infant, Billy; H. Jay Brown, Robert Brown, Keith Brown.
Cremation has taken place. Private family service held at Elkland Township Cemetery, Cass City with Rev. Kim Strunz officiating. Family and friends may share memories, prayers, and photos at www.kranzfuneralhome.com.
