NORMA JEAN BRAUN,
73, of Kingston, died Sunday, April 6, 2014 in Fisher Convalescent Home, Mayville, following a long illness. She was born November 10, 1940 in Hillman to Emerald and Cathleen (Morrison) Reid. She married Ralph Paul Braun, Jr. June 1, 1974 in Oakland County.
Norma graduated from Pontiac Northern High School. She worked as a Cafeteria Worker and Crossing Guard for many years for the Walled Lake School District. Norma was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Caro. She loved gardening, reading and holding babies. She enjoyed little dogs, especially her pug, Sassy May.
Norma is survived by her husband, Ralph; sons: Thomas (Angela) Braun of Fenton, Marine Corps 1st Sgt. Todd (Sharon) Braun of Kailua, HI (deployed in Korea); grandchildren: Christian, Chase, Jacob, Meghan; brother, David (Diane) Graham of FL; sister, Patricia Forbes of Caro; brother-in-law, Alvin Kline of Alpena; half sister, Kimberly (Bruce) Bingham of West Virginia; half brother, Scott (Diane) Reid of Rogers City; many nieces, nephews, uncles and aunts. She is preceded in death by her brother, Thomas (Kay) Reid; half sister, Darlene Kline; father and step mother, Emerald (Onaway Laura) Reid; mother and step father, Cathleen (Clyde) Kramer.
Private memorial service to be held in late June with Pastor Cameron Steel of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Caro, officiating. Cremation has taken place. Interment will be in Kingston Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Caro or Fisher Convalescent Home and Rehab Center.
