KENNETH PHILLIP BOILEAU
Rev. Kenneth P. Boileau, 91, of Kingston, died Saturday, June 30, 2007 in United Hospice of Marlette Residence Center. He was born June 1, 1916 in Sand Bay on Bois Blanc Island, MI to William and Anna (Anderson) Boileau. He married Loretta V. Traver June 30, 1944 in Cheboygan. She died March 19, 2000.
Kenn was born and lived on Bois Blanc Island until he was six. He moved with his family to Cheboygan to begin school. He graduated from Cheboygan High School. Kenn began working at a local bank and later the Defense Plant in Cheboygan. He attended the Free Methodist Church in Cheboygan. He met and married Loretta in Cheboygan. Kenn completed his ministerial schooling through the Free Methodist Church by correspondence course and completed forty years in the ministry before retiring. Some of the churches he pastored include: Fenton, Linden, Mayville, Memphis and Wilmot Free Methodist churches. He then began attending the Pilgrim Church in Kingston which is now the Kingston Wesleyan Church after which he pastored churches in Lapeer, Merrill, Rockford, Sault Ste Marie and last in Frankfort. Kenn and Loretta retired in Kingston. Kenn was a HAM radio operator, getting his first license in 1960. He served on the Kingston Village Council for many years, serving as Village Clerk for over 15 years.
Kenn is survived by his son, Ronald Boileau of Kingston; 7 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; special friend, Maxine Rieck; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his son, Jim Boileau; sisters: May and Beatrice Zimpfer; brothers: Carl, Earl, Elmer, Arden and Harold Boileau.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 7, 2007 in Kingston Wesleyan Church with Rev. Ken Sandefur officiating. Memorials may be made to Family Discretionary Fund.
