LOIS EVELYN BOCKSTANZ,
94, of Cass City, died following a long illness, Monday, Memorial Day, May 28, 2012 in Northwood Meadows Medical Care Unit, Cass City. She was born May 22, 1918 in Scottville to Frank and Olive (Corey) Bosworth. She married Louis F. Bockstanz August 14, 1938 in her home in Scottville. He died October 15, 2003.
Lois graduated as Salutatorian of her high school class in Scottville. She worked in the business and accounting office of Portage Public Schools retiring in 1980 after many years of service. Lois was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Portage. After moving to Cass City with Louis in 1994, they became members of Cass City United Methodist Church. Lois and Louis wintered in Donna, TX for many years and enjoyed square dancing during their winters there.
Lois is survived by her children: Douglas (Nance) Bockstanz of Crossville, TN, David (Bonnie) Bockstanz of Deford, DeLynne Bockstanz of Cass City; grandchildren: Courtney (Tammy) Bockstanz, Darcy (Tom) Layman, Hazen (Gary) Ragland, Lori Bockstanz; great grandchildren: Carl, Chris, Neva, Levon, Max, Elliott and Rhys; sister, Eldonna (Don) Adams of Fremont; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her sister, Carol Bockstanz.
Memorial service held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, June 2, 2012 in the gathering room at Northwood Meadows Cass City with Rev. Jackie Roe of Cass City United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Elkland Township Cemetery, Cass City. Memorials may be made to Home and Hospice Advantage.
