David L. Bockstanz, 72, of Deford died unexpectedly Monday, August 17, 2015 in his home. He was born October 17, 1942 in Scottville, MI the middle of three children born to Louis and Lois (Bosworth) Bockstanz. He married Bonnie Sue Castleberry March 9, 1984 in Las Vegas, NV.
David graduated from Portage Central High School and then attended Western Michigan University. After high school David worked for Louis Bockstanz Associates as a furniture manufacturers representative. He and Bonnie owned and operated Marlette Chrysler Dodge Jeep dealership and Marlette RV dealership for 23 years. In his younger years, David enjoyed fishing and boating. He loved traveling in their RV from here to Florida visiting many casinos along the way.
David is survived by his wife, Bonnie; daughters: Hazen (Gary) Ragland of Grosse Pointe Woods, Darcy (Tom) Layman of Mayville; son, Courtney (Tammy) Bockstanz of Allegan; grandchildren: Elliott, Rhys, Carl, Chris, Neva, Levon, and Max; brother, Douglas (Nance) Bockstanz of Crossville, TN; sister, Delynne Bockstanz of Cass City. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial service held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 22, 2015 in Northwood Meadows Gathering Room with Rev. Jackie Roe of Cass City United Methodist Church officiating.
